Lifting and Positioning the Pearl Mini

How to safely lift your Pearl Mini out of the crate and onto the base

This guide covers removing the Pearl Mini body from the crate and lowering it onto the base. It is Step 3 of the Pearl Mini Uncrate & Assembly Guide.

Estimated Time Up to 30 minutes
People Required 2 minimum
Difficulty Advanced
Tools Required Forklift rated for at least 500kg, lifting straps or slings rated for at least 500kg, extended forklift arms (recommended), drill or impact driver, crowbar or pry bar, safety gloves, steel-toe boots, eye protection, hard hat

Before You Start

⚠️ The Pearl Mini body weighs up to 462kg. A forklift is required for this step — there is no safe manual alternative. Do not attempt to lift the machine without one. If you do not have access to a forklift, arrange one before proceeding.

Make sure your base is already positioned and roughly level before starting this step. Moving the base once the machine is on top is not possible. If you haven't done this yet, head back to Assembling the Pearl Mini Base first.

Step 1 — Free the Machine from the Crate

At the base of the Pearl Mini inside the crate, you'll find wooden blocks holding the machine in place. Using a drill or impact driver, remove the screws securing the blocks and lift them away. If there are any nails, use a crowbar to remove these.

Only use power tools for removing the crate fixings. Do not use a drill or impact driver anywhere on the machine itself.

Step 2 — Attach the Lifting Straps

Thread your lifting straps through the hooks on the Pearl Mini and attach them securely to the forklift. Take a moment to double-check that the straps are properly seated in the hooks and that nothing is twisted or loose before lifting.

If extended forklift arms are available, use them, they keep the machine clear of the forklift mast during the lift and give you more control.

Step 3 — Lift and Clear the Crate

Slowly raise the Pearl Mini around 5cm off the crate floor. Once lifted, slide the crate floor out from underneath the machine.

Take your time here, there is no need to rush. Keep the machine steady before moving.

Step 4 — Lower onto the Base

Carefully manoeuvre the Pearl Mini over the base and lower it slowly into position. As the machine comes down, make sure the four lips on the base slot into the corresponding holes on each corner of the machine body. You may need one or two people to push the machine into position while it's being lowered.

Do not force the machine into position, if it doesn't sit flush, raise it slightly and reposition before lowering again.
