Precision Fill Troubleshooting Guide
Step-by-step fixes for the most common issues. Work through each section in order before moving to the next.
Step 1 — Check the Basics
Before adjusting any settings, run through this checklist. The majority of issues are caused by one of the following:
|
Check |
What to Do |
|---|---|
| Air Pressure | Confirm the pressure regulator is set to 0.4 MPa. To adjust: lift the dial, twist to increase or decrease, then push down to lock. |
| Machine Placement | The machine must be on a solid, vibration-free surface with all four feet firmly on the floor — no rocking. |
| Machine Level | The machine must be level in all directions. Use a spirit level if needed and adjust the feet accordingly. |
| Load Cell & Weighing Chamber | Ensure nothing is touching the load cell inside the machine, and no wires or air tubes are resting against the silver weighing chamber. |
| Shipping Supports | Confirm all shipping brackets have been removed. These will cause incorrect weight readings or an OFL error. Refer to the Uncrate & Assembly Guide if unsure. |
Step 2 — Check Your Recipe Settings
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Output varies by more than 4g (e.g. 496g, 482g, 508g) | Med Feed too low | Increase Med Feed by 10g, run 3 cycles, and repeat until output is consistent within ±1g |
| Output is stable but consistently the wrong weight (e.g. always 510g on a 500g recipe) | Slow Feed incorrect | Increase Slow Feed by the number of grams over target, or decrease by the number of grams under |
| Output is both inconsistent and off-target | Both Med and Slow Feed need adjustment | Fix Med Feed first until consistent, then adjust Slow Feed to dial in the target weight |
| Fast Feed active on a recipe under 1,000g | Fast Feed not disabled | Set the Fast Feed value equal to your target weight, or set Feed Speed to Two Speed (Med/Slow) in the Shortcut screen |
Step 3 — Calibrate the Machine
If the above steps haven't resolved the issue, re-calibrate the machine. You'll need an accurate scale (up to 2kg) and approximately 2,000g of coffee.
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Go to System Settings → 1. Calibration → 2. Material Clb |
| 2 | Place a bucket under the discharge chute. Tap Fast then Discharge to empty the machine, then tap again to close the gate |
| 3 | Wait for the readout to stabilise, then tap Zero Clb |
| 4 | Weigh out exactly 2,000g of coffee and load it into the machine |
| 5 | Tap Fast and wait for all coffee to enter the weighing chamber |
| 6 | Wait for the readout to stabilise, then tap Record Wt |
| 7 | Enter 2000 in the Clb Wt field and tap Wt Clb — the readout should now show 2,000g |
| 8 | Tap Discharge to empty, then tap Home to return to the main screen |
Step 4 — Check the Time Settings
Navigate to the Recipe Time Settings screen and confirm the following values:
| Setting | Recommended Value |
|---|---|
| Fast Feed Delay | 0.5s |
| Medium Feed Delay | 0.5s |
| Slow Feed Delay | 1.4s |
| All other time settings | 0.5s minimum |
Step 5 — Restore Factory Settings
If nothing above has resolved the issue, restore the machine's factory settings. See the How to Recover Factory Settings guide for instructions.
⚠️ This will erase your current recipes and settings. Make a note of all recipe values before proceeding.
