Adjusting the Speed of the Lift
Adjusting Lift Speed for Standard Vacuums and SOVDA Vacuum Boxes
To adjust the speed of your lift, this will depend on what vacuum you have for your lift system. You may want to adjust the speed of your lift if your experiencing broken beans, or a slower lift.
Standard Vacuum
If you have a canister vacuum, you’ll need to adjust the slit that your flex-pipe connects too. To make the vacuum slower, you’ll want to open this slit, alternatively to make it faster, you’ll use the pipe to cover slit more.

SOVDA Vacuum Box
If you have a SOVDA Vacuum box, you have an adjustable VDF inside your Vacuum Box. You can use the small dial on the right to adjust the speed, you’ll see the number on the LED display either increase or decrease.

It’s important to note if you have a destoner on your hopper of your lift, you’ll need to adjust this again after adjusting the speed.
If you need to adjust the cycle of how long you want to lift coffee for, please see our guide on Changing Lift Cycle Times.
