How to properly remove, service, and reassemble the wiper brush system on the Pearl Mini

Introduction

After long periods of use, the wiper brush inside the Pearl Mini may need to be serviced. This guide will take you through removal, disassembly, service, reassembly, and installation of the wiper brush.

In order to perform the brush service, you will need the following:

  1. 7057 Grease
  2. Gaskets (Optional)
    1. 20mm
    2. 25mm
    3. 32mm

Removing the Brush

  • Shut off and drain compressed air.
  • You can shut off some of the lights to create a more comfortable working environment.
  • Disconnect compressed air lines from both sides of the brush rail:

  • Remove the four machine screws holding the brush onto the brush mount and remove the brush from the sorting chamber:



Removing the Rail

  • Remove the two nuts and thin washers on the far left and right sides of the brush rail, taking care to not damage the washers:



  • Identify and remove the rail mount on one side of the machine by unscrewing the four machine screws. When the mount comes loose, the rail should come free:



  • Slide the rail out of the mount on the other side, removing the rail and mount from the machine

Disassemble the Rail

  • Remove rail caps from both sides of the rail:



  • Insert a socket or piece of pipe into the rail as a spacer near the wiper mount:



  • Push the wiper mount off the internal magnet shuttle by placing the rail vertically on a flat surface and pushing the wiper mount down wards:



  • Remove the wiper mount from the rail.

  • Use the magnet in the wiper mount to slide the magnetic shuttle and spacer from inside the rail:




Servicing the Rail and Shuttle

  • Clean the rail interior and apply 7057 grease to the inside.
    • Tip: Tie a cloth to a string for easy cleaning:



  • Clean or replace the gaskets on the magnetic shuttle:



  • Apply 7057 grease to the gaskets on the magnetic shuttle.

Reassemble the Rail

  • Insert the magnetic shuttle back into the rail:



  • Use the magnet from the wiper mount to pull the magnetic shuttle fully inside the rail:



  • Reattach the wiper mount on the rail and ensure smooth operation by moving the shuttle back and forth:



  • Replace rail caps on the rail ends:


Reinstalling the Rail

  1. Insert one end of the rail into the installed rail mount and the other end into the removed rail mount. Install the removed rail mount.
  2. Reinstall the wiper and reconnect the compressed air lines.
  3. Turn on compressed air and check for leaks.
  4. Utilize the "Manual Cleaning" button to verify proper brush actuation.
