Opening and Uncrating your Pearl Mini
How to safely open your Pearl Mini crate and check your delivery
This guide covers how to open your Pearl Mini crate, photograph the contents, and check everything has arrived safely. It is the first step in the Pearl Mini Uncrate & Assembly Guide.
| Estimated Time | 10 minutes |
| People Required | 2 recommended — the crate panels are large and bulky |
| Difficulty | Intermediate |
| Tools Required | 8mm nut driver, crowbar or pry bar, hammer, drill or impact driver, safety gloves, steel-toe boots, eye protection |
Before You Start
Have your camera or phone ready, you'll need to take photos at several points during this process. These photos are important evidence if any damage needs to be reported, and missing them could affect your ability to make a claim.
Step 1 — Remove the Crate Lid
Using an 8mm nut driver, remove the screws around the edges of the top panel. Some crates may also have nails, if so, use a crowbar and hammer to wedge under the panel and work from corner to corner until it comes loose. Once three sides are free, tilt the lid upward to release any remaining fixings and lift it clear.
Step 2 — Photograph the Inside of the Crate
Before touching anything inside, take clear photos of the machine and all contents, including the gaps between the machine and the crate walls. Do this before moving or removing anything.
These photos are your evidence if a damage claim needs to be made. Skipping this step may mean you are unable to claim for damage discovered later.
Step 3 — Remove a Side Panel
Using an 8mm nut driver, remove the screws around the edges of one of the side panels. If there are nails, use a crowbar to release the fixings at each corner.
This is much easier with two people, one to hold the panel steady and one to work the fixings. Once everything is loose, carefully lift the panel away and set it aside.
Step 4 — Check Your Delivery
With the side panel removed, you should be able to see and access the contents clearly. You should have received the following:
- Pearl Mini body
- Pearl Mini hopper (this may be attached already)
- Pearl Mini base (if ordered)
- Accessories box (contains feet, fixings and air line fitting)
Work through your paper packing list to confirm everything is present. Photograph all items once you've organised them, and take close-up photos of anything that looks damaged.
If anything is missing or damaged, contact Technical Service within 48 hours of delivery. Reporting outside this window may affect your ability to claim for missing or damaged items.
Organising Your Parts
Remove and organise everything except the Pearl Mini body, leave it in the crate until you are ready to lift it. Use the bubble wrap and packing materials to protect the paintwork of the hopper and base while you work.
