How to replace the brushes on your vacuum
If you're experiencing intermittent issues or poor performance with your vacuum, you may need to replace the brushes
A motor brush is a small part that helps transfer electricity to keep the motor running. Over time, these brushes can wear out because of regular use, which can affect how well the motor works. Replacing them is a simple way to get your motor back to full power and running smoothly.
Tools Required
- Philips Screwdriver
Step 1 - Removing the housing
1. Using a screwdriver, take off both of the clips either side of the motor holding down the plastic housing of the fan.
Step 2 - Removing the clamp
2. Next, locate the two screws clamp holding the brush clamp in place and unscrew.
Step 3 - Remove the brush housing, and replace
3. Remove the clamp and carefully take of the brush out, and replace with your new brush.
Step 4 - Reassemble
4. Place the clamp back and secure with the two screws, and replace the plastic housing cover and clamp back in-place.
